Traditional Christmas Card

Good Morning

With only 22 more sleeps until Christmas Day, I thought it only appropriate to post a Christmas Card.  This is a card with minimal embellishments as the embossing folder that I used are just so pretty and I did not want to have to much "distractions".  This embossing folder is a new one that I just bought about 2 weeks ago.  I used some sturdy foil to make the Christmas bubble and then I just added some bling.

I used the traditional Christmas colours of green and red on this one.

DOILIES 27cm

Hello to all my peeps

Well, couple days of holiday is past and it is back to work and planning for the next couple of months. Recently I was asked by a friend for some large doilies 27cm,  and this was the result.

These doilies she wants to use in her scrap pages for her friends, so will be asking her to please shear them with us. The doilies was cut out with Cutmates card stock,  which I just love using, as it really cuts well on the Cricut machine.

CELEBRATREE

GIFT WRAP CARDS

Hello friends,

Here in Pretoria we have had some variety of weather from sunny days to afternoons & evenings with rain to hail. Luckily no damages besides a few leaks, as our big Avocado tree, leaves and branches blocked some of the cutters

As you can see from the previous post, it was decided to donate 3 Santa Shoe boxes for girls. It was strange for me with adult children to go and buy 12 year old clothes, sure felt like doing sampling shopping and what fun that was. After the boxes was covered, there was some gift wrap left and yip... creativity shouted at me.

So the result was making 3 Casual cards

 

Oh yes and the Card Candi just popped in hand and had to be paste too :-))

SANTA SHOEBOX PROJECT

Hello to all my peeps, hope to find you in a healthy and happy day. Clear sky and nice and hot here in Pretoria.

This year I have decided one of the charities I will be supporting is SANTA SHOEBOX, and in that way cheering some cheer with the children. The children range in ages from small till teenagers, and to give from the heart is always so satisfying. CHARMED NOTES

Hello to all my followers and to the peeps that just pop in to have a look :-))

If you are a card maker like me, well then you don't throw away anything that you think can always be re-use no matter how small. The squares and flowers for this card, was cut offs from a bigger punch for a scrap page. The resin notes and harp was items I made ages ago.
So voila... a casual card in seconds -))

BAKERS TWINE

CARD CANDI - FLOWER

As Card Candi is my favorite as present and they are so easy and fun to use, I thought why not show you a tutorial of how to make flowers with any of the plain colours.

Red, Green and Yellow

Good Afternoon

Marika here.  I am greeting you from a cold Cape Town, the sun was shinning so brightly this morning that I thought that we will have another sunny day, but no such luck. 

I made a card with a lovely freebie stamp that I received with my latest Papercraft Essentials magazine. This is one of the most beautiful little stamps that I have yet to receive with a magazine. I just love this little winged girl. I used some red pearls on the outside of the scalloped circle.

A close-up of the stamp.  The stamp is from the Wee Stamps and was designed exclusive for Papercraft Essential magazine.  I put some Glitzin Glamour over the wings, just for that little bit of bling.

BIRTHDAY CARD

This card was made with my friend Brenda in mind. I have not seen her for ages, but we stay in contact on a regular basis. I have promised myself that we will go and visit as soon as it gets warmer and I can get around with a reliable vehicle again.

This card was made using Passionate Coutre Texture card stock as backing. On top is metallic card stock that I punched with a corner punch ages ago from a friends stash.

The white card stock is from Cutmates and cut to a oval using a Simply 2 die 4 die 

Now the challenging part:

I have not done much colouring of any sorts, so decided I need to start brushing up sometime. The corset picture printed on a label printer and coloured with a permanent marker. Well, that alone was a challenge on its on :-) as it makes streaks if you don't colour it right as the label paper is a glossy paper and takes long to dry. Ok, so after ditching the 1st picture, tried again and learned a lesson yippy :-)

CARD CANDI PURPLE

Good Morning

Marika here.  I am so excited, today is my very first Design Team post.  I was so honoured when Charlie asked me to be on her Design Team.  ABC Crafts is my very first time serving on a Design Team and I am sure that I will have lots of fun.  Not only are Charlie and I very good friends but she has also got the best prices when it comes to card stock, craft candy, dies and much more.  I have learned so much from her, she is always ready with some advice

.
But on to my card. I used the much loved card candy that I have lots of, the colours that these little handy circles comes in are so yummy you literally want to eat them, no wonder they are called "candy". For the times that you do not have the right colour, I have some white ones and the Copic markers colour them to perfection, a good way to get them to precisely colour coordinate with your layout.  I love the purple papers. 

A close-up of the butterfly.  I used parchment paper to draw the butterfly on and then I used Card Candy and gems to make the butterfly pretty.

CARD CANDI BEAUTIFUL

Hello to all my followers,

I was making a scrap page, and had to see if the "beautiful" was gonna cut out nice on the Cricut machine.  So used a loose page to cut it in another colour first and this cut out ended up being used on this card.    Well as you can see the result was great !!

CARD CANDI WITH PURPLE

Hello to all my followers.
Sorry for been so quiet lately, last 2 month have been hick tick with a full house with my son and their 10 cats.We had only 1 and it does take time to get use to many more under foot :-)) They are so cute, so you will see some pictures soon.


I have been crafting in between. so here is my bright card lol

The tag and elegant shaped square card was cut via the Cricut machine. Background pattern paper is from a set of WM papers I got form a RAK and was mounted on white plain card stock that is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The flowers was done on some Letrack hand punches and the sentiment is a JEJE peel-off. The white Card Candi and peel-offs was coloured with permanent markers.

EMBOSS CARD

Hi to all my followers. Hoping to hear you all in great health, as our winter here in Pretoria has not really started. We have cool mornings & evening. During the days it is nice and sunny. I am lucky so far as not to get a cold.


I bought some new embossing folders and after embossing some card stock, I heard a whisper that said the glossy card looks stunning, and that it only needs some permanent markers.......... and voila!!

The sentiment is in Afrikaans and says “Just for you”

FLOWERS ON THE WALL

The card was made with some dies from a friend and mounted on some golden mesh The card was also entered into the Outlaws Challenge Monday Greeting Cards. This weeks challenge was a card inspired by a song.
And mine is from the Statler Brothers – Flowers On The Wall

BABY CARDS

These are some quick card I made. Using my guillotine that I have purchase in the late 1900's
yes and is still cuts beautiful. Cut the card and the matting papers with it. Added some beautiful sleeping babies and gems.... and voila !!!

I also entered them on Outlaws in the Casual Challenge

STICKER CARD WITH CANDI

This is my shaped card for the Sunday CAS Challenge in Outlaws.

Cut with a Grand Calibur die from Spellbinder. Decorated with some wonderful Card Candi and a quick sticker.

FLOWER CARDS

Hello to all my followers, wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
Sitting at my craft table, and all the flowers and dies laying there, it has to be something with flowers, and all the birthdays coming up.

This card was made with nesties cut on the Cricut machine and topped with some charms. Best Wishes was done with a rubber stamp and some emboss powder.

The above card was also made with nesties and flowers cut on the Cricut machine. I have been wanting to make an orange card for ages and voila !! Decorated with gem flowers and big gems.

SHRINK PLASTIC

Hello all, I have made a decision to keep 2 days open a week for crafting, whether making cards or cutting dies. As my right arm is not coping being every day on the pc, so giving it a break now and then. And crafting is definite getting preference above playing games, so even Facebook is getting a back seat. Yippee !!

My latest card I made with shrink plastic that I stamped, coloured and baked in the oven.

Once it has shrunk I even put a little glitter on it. Then layered it on some handmade paper and then some tissue mulberry paper.

BIRTHDAY CARD

Wishing all my followers a stunning week ahead.

This is a card I made for my partner’s birthday on Saturday.

The back ground card with the wording stamped on it, I had in my stash, must have borrowed a stamp in a card class yippee lol and if you had to see my partner, well you will understand the bear. He is my big teddy tear in real life and I adore him!!

The scollops is peel-offs that I just coloured to blend with the card.

SPECIAL VALENTINE CARD

This is a special card I made for the love of my life.

The back ground was embossed on the Cuttlebug machine with a embossing folder from Papermania. The heart was cut on the Cricut Machine and decorated with a silver peel-off that I coloured in with a Dufex permanent marker. There are also small heart gems from Strass stones.

CARD CANDI

New Card Candi has arrived last week and is going fast, so before it sells out I had to make a card with it!! One of those "things" when a crafters sees new products.... oh yes must have lol

Oh yes, I had to do a quick card and used some stickers again lol The card stock is Cutmates, just love it, as the price is reasonable and it cuts like butter on cutting machines !! Circles was done with Cricut machine decorated with some Card Candi Regal Gold

VALENTINE CARDS

Below is Valentine cards that was made over the past couple of days.Yip have been at the craft table for some me time again

This card was made using heart punches & the small daisy punch from Creative Memories. The card stock used is Glitz (that has a glitter to it) for the small daisies, hearts & cut circle Cutmates was used.

This card has a gold paper doily embellished with some flowers punched from Cutmates. Some pearls & gem flowers where added. The hearts in the corners is punch from Glitz glitter card stock

And who says stickers don’t make a nice card?? Well, I just love how this one turned out, and I think the circles cut with my Cricut Machine just complements it !!
